The user manual contains the reference documentation for all features included in darktable. It is also available as PDF or as EPUB. It currently tracks the development version of darktable so it might contain features you are missing in your stable installation.
The Lua API has its own manual. A guide for getting started with scripting is also available in the main manual.
If you would like to help maintain the user manual, please see our GitHub repository or the overview of our workflow.
Translations of the manual are available in various languages. Many languages are fairly incomplete and you are welcome to contribute. The translations are managed through Weblate. More on translating the manual can be found in the translators’ guide.
Some commonly asked questions can be found in our FAQ. Please read it before reporting bugs or feature requests.
If you can’t find a solution for your issue in the FAQ or manual (see above), you are welcome to ask on the forum at discuss.pixls.us.
Archiving previous versions of the manual has been suspended since 4.6; the last archived versions are listed below. The user manual tracks the state of the current development version (nightly). The following user manual links are snapshots for older versions of darktable.
